Anshoo Gaur is the President and Head of Amdocs India, local unit of the international customer experience solution provider. A frequent traveller, Gaur likes airports that are compact, functional and optimised. These are the reasons, Gaur tells BusinessLine, that his favourite airport is Zurich’s Kloten Airport.
My favourite airport: Zurich Airport, also known as Kloten Airport
What I like about it : Zurich is a neat and compact airport. Importantly, all aspects of the airport work like a perfectly tuned and styled Swiss watch. Two things that stand out are: Underground train connecting terminals have a video and audio display that is incredible; and the Central shopping area – you find everything you need.
What could be improved: There have been a lot of improvements made at the airport over the last 12 months that streamline people movement and this is great. But frequent change in equipment results in a shift in departure terminal for a flight – this can be frustrating sometimes.
Others airports I like: The other “functional” airports I like are: Dallas/Fort-Worth (D/FW), Munich, and Hyderabad. D/FW is a close second only because I travel through it less now. In my view, it is the most efficient airport in the world as a traveller doesn't waste any time.
