What recession? A slowing economy could be good news for the business travel industry. The Global Business Travel Alliance (GBTA) says India's total business travel spend is forecast to grow 9.8 per cent in 2015 and 10.9 per cent in 2016 – the first double-digit spending gains since 2011. GBTA forecasts domestic business travel to hit double digit growth in 2015 and 2016 growing 10.1 percent and 11.3 percent respectively.

It’s all about ‘show me the money’

Randstad India’s research for its most attractive employers award 2015 shows that salary and employee benefits continue to be the top priority for the Indian workforce. The other top influencing factors while choosing an employer are long-term job security (49 per cent), work-life balance (39 per cent), pleasant working atmosphere (39 per cent), and financial health of the company (38 per cent).

Virtual boom beckons marketers

Digital penetration along with shifts in India’s digital user base mean big changes for marketing and media companies, says a report by The Boston Consulting Group. With an estimated 55 million connected consumers by 2018, the report points that more users will live in rural areas, presenting opportunities to marketers. In 2018, women will represent a third of all users. It will have a bearing on the internet economy as women control 44 per cent of household spending in India.
