Ranjit Shahani, Novartis India chief says :
1. Music is a great relaxation, better than medicine. My repertoire is wide; from Abida Parveen's sufi and Iqbal Bano's ghazals, to the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Yo Yo Honey Singh. After 11.30 pm it is my time, with my Bose ear-phones on, I am oblivious to the rest of the world.
2 Besides reading, art and colour are a passion. I wanted to be a painter, but became an engineer. At IIT Kanpur, they had art, history and philosophy as electives - we came out with sharp elbows, but as rounded engineers. Art keeps me going, colour brightens my life.
3 I believe the family that eats together, stays together. My wife and I take long walks together, no matter how late it is. It’s some exercise considering the sedentary lives we lead and we catch up on the day’s events.
4 I carry my theraband with me for exercise wherever I travel – it is light, fits in the pocket, and is the perfect form of exercise.
5 Despite the many social invitations, I do not indulge in indiscriminate eating. It’s a matter of discipline, and I make it a point to go back home and catch a bite.
