October 20
The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Department of Health and Human Services will host joint conference calls on October 20 for US healthcare workers to discuss preparedness and concerns on Ebola. The CDC said it was setting up a “Response Team” that will be on the ground within a few hours at any hospital that received a confirmed patient with Ebola. The response team would provide training on infection control, contact tracing, waste and decontamination, public education, among others. It would ensure that public health practitioners follow strict protocol to ensure safety the patient and the workers.
