The morning is dedicated to three important life Tatvas — mind, body and soul. My day starts with a brisk walk and deep breathing which strengthens body and soul, followed by a round of reading newspapers and breakfast to keep me energised.
I follow a high-to-low diet. Mornings are rich in proteins and carbohydrates. Oatmeal, cereals, even paranthas. A small spoon of ghee or homemade butter provides the good cholesterol and Vitamin A that improves immunity. Every two hours I take “light food” to keep the metabolism active and avoid shock at the next meal. Dinner is sans sugar and cholesterol to lighten body activity and is high in fibre — two chapatis.
I write a ‘To Do’ list which sharpens focus, improves time management and helps take better decisions. Even during stress and heavy workload, write as much as you can!! It helps channelise energy!
I keep track of my calorie burn through a fitness app. If I skip the morning walk, I use the stairs instead of elevators, walk a few more steps to balance the calorie loss.
Work-life balance is important. I maintain strict working hours and guide my team to manage time between work and family. No work commitments are required to be taken home but I expect efficiency in meeting deadlines.
