The five things Shailja Dutt , Founder, Stellar Search does to keep fit:

1. Being a national level athlete in my childhood, fitness is integral to my life. Strength training, lifting weights, my fitness mantra is “unless you don’t challenge yourself, you don’t change”. Being an outdoor person,I also run, swim and go for group classes like F45, Zumba etc. I love the energy of a group class and recommend it to someone who lacks the motivation to stay on track with fitness.

2. Another tip to stay on track is, fix your workout time.I wake up at4:30 am and hit the gym/track by 6 am. This requires discipline, I don’t socialise or work beyond 9 pm.

3. My brother, a fitness enthusiast told me “you are what you eat”. I avoid white carbs, my meals are a mix of vegetables, protein and good fat (nuts, olive oil etc). I eat desserts sparingly, drink atleast 4 liters of water and eat 3 helpings of fruits every day.

4.I’m an avid scuba diver and have started trekking after going to the Everest Base Camp. These off-grid activities help disconnect from social media and connect with myself, my family.

5.Being in a high-stress customer-facing role, I do stress eat! Working with my executive coach Pratap Nambiar, I now let go of things I cannot control. Seeing the positive in every situation has allowed me to focus on outcomes rather than “situations”.And this has had a positive effect on my well-being!
