BREXIT

EMA sees no side-effect, yet

Brexit, which has much of Europe in a tizzy, got the European Medicines Agency (EMA) too reacting. The agency said that its procedures and work streams are not affected by the referendum by which the UK has voted to go out of the European Union bloc. The EMA will continue its operations as usual, in accordance with the timelines set by its rules and regulations. There is no precedent for this situation, the EMA said, adding that the implications for the seat and operations of the EMA depend on the future relationship between the UK and the EU. This is unknown at present and therefore “we will not engage in any speculation,” it said.
