Gaming gear maker Hyperx, an arm of memory devices manufacturer Kingston Technology, has built a reputation for delivering quality gaming accessories sporting stylish design and at affordable prices. The HyperX Cloud Earbuds (HX-HSCEB-RD), mainly meant for gaming, takes a cue from legacy and tries to blend quality performance with strong hardware.

This is a wired earphone and does not support Bluetooth playback. The pods have a height of 24 mm and width of 29 mm; it weighs 18.1 gm. The wires feel strong and do not get enmeshed easily, which is a blessing. The earpods come in three sizes and you can choose the pair that fit your ear.

Placing the earphone in your ear properly will need some patience, initially. But once that’s set, the experience is suitably noiseless. The audio experience is great, considering the price. Even low quality audio is delivered crisp and clear. In fact, the HyperX Cloud’s USP is that it is made for gaming needs. The earphones come with the Nintendo Switch, which helps you navigate and control games effortlessly using the earphone. Not many earphones will give you the facility for this price.

We tested four different kinds of games and four different platforms (mobile, PC, tablet and console) and the experience has been quite satisfactory. Its immersive in-game audio has impressive accuracy and even when you play high-fidelity games with superfast movements (and audio), the experience is very detailed and natural.

The earphone catches and delivers hushed tones smoothly, so that it comes in handy while playing combat (ambush-kind) games. The phone is optimised for hand-held mode. There is an in-line mic for game chat, which captures voice efficiently; even low-intensity voice is recorded clearly. The quality of rendition is great given the price.
