The search for the perfect bluetooth speaker is a tricky affair. In all likelihood you’d end up buying the wrong one. The safe bet, hence, is to go by the brand. And that explains why JBL enjoys a name in this segment. Its earphones and portable speakers have earned a name for their quality, form factor and affordability. The JBL GO 2, launched in India just recently, is the latest offering from the audio device maker which is owned by Samsung-controlled Harman International.
So does the JBL GO 2 live up to the legacy of its popular predecessor, the JBL GO? It is conveniently portable and compact, and is not much bigger than your palm, and is easy to carry around thanks to a sturdy body with comfortable grip. The device comes in bright colours (blue, red and ten more shades), and is said to be waterproof (to mild showers, I assume) thanks to the IPX7 technology.
The audio quality is impressive and controlled. You can stream wirelessly via bluetooth or connect it to s source through the audio jack. The built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery puts up good performance. In our experience, it lasted for over 3-4 hours (playback) after fully charging. Users can receive their phone calls too, and the built-in echo and noise-cancelling features are laudable. If you want to have some good audio outdoors even when some rains are in the horizon, here’s your pick for the week.
