Bangalore-based Wings Lifestyle’s ergonomically-designed Bluetooth earphones stand testimony to the company’s philosophy. The Wings Steel Sports wireless Bluetooth earphones stick to the firm’s motto and try to blend looks with performance.

The Wings Steel earphones do feel light on the ears and extremely comfortable despite its slightly bigger earpanels. Wearing it properly might need some patience but once fixed, it hugs your ear nicely. The earphones are not exactly an in-ear affair, yet they sit securely on the ear. In fact, the buds enter the ear canal so well that most of the external noise disturbance gets reduced suitably, giving a very private listening experience.

The earphones have a metal alloy body with a smooth matte finish and come in a compact case. They are compatible with most popular operating systems and connecting them to the phone is hassle-free. The Wings Steel offers clean audio that is well-balanced.

One of the most irritating traits of most earphones in this price range is what is called the bloated bass. Thankfully, the Wings Steel is able to tackle this efficiently, thanks to the neodymium drivers. The bass is clean and loud and does not get jarring even when you play ultra-bass-y tracks. The treble is smooth but vocals did seem a tad struggling, especially when I tried a few podcast episodes where a lot of people talk a lot very fast. But it seems this pair is made for music and cinema, not exactly for news and gaming.

The earphones claim a 10-hour playtime; our experience shows a neat six-seven hours (which is good enough to keep you entertained on a long sleepless night). The earphones come with a 90 mAH battery and the claimed stand-by time is of 250 hours. The device gets charged pretty fast- 80-90 minutes are more than enough for full charge.

The built-in mic is nice and efficient but you need some practice to talk ‘to’ the device to ensure optimum audio results. The Wings Steel offers a three-button control for hands-free calling, rejecting calls, adjusting volume, changing songs, etc. This works without glitches. The earphones come with a one-year warranty.
