Bajaj Auto July 2014 exports is highest ever for any month

In July 2014, Bajaj Auto turned in a creditable performance in both commercial vehicle sales and exports.

Bajaj Auto Limited has posted a 9 per cent growth in motorcycle sales during July this year compared to the same month last year.

But what should be heartening for the company are the pick up in commercial vehicle sales and a more than 50 per cent increase in exports both of which were the highest ever for any month for BAL.

In its filing with the stock exchanges, BAL said that it sold 2,67,841 motorcycles during July 2014 compared to 2,46,828 units in July 2013, a 9 per cent increase. The sale of commercial vehicles recorded a sharp 49 per cent increase to 51,451 units in July this year as against 34,499 units in the corresponding month last year, marking the highest ever sales of CVs for any month.

Exports

Out of this, BAL exported 1,69,755 vehicles last month compared to 1,10,023 vehicles in July last year, a 54 per cent jump. The company said the July 2014 exports were the highest for any month for the company.

On a cumulative basis, the April-July 2014 sale of 13,07,722 units of both motorcycles and commercial vehicles marked a 4 per cent increase over 12,60,602 units sold in the same period last year.

Of these, exports jumped by 29 per cent to 6,11,722 vehicles during the first four months of current fiscal as against 4,72,586 units sold during the same period last year.

Shares of Bajaj Auto are trading higher by Rs 12.15 at Rs 2,070.05 on the NSE.

On the BSE, the Bajaj Auto shares touched a high of Rs 2,080 and was trading at Rs 2,070 a piece (a gain of 0.69 per cent) at mid morning.
