HM maintains Pajero Sports sales

Hindustan Motors Ltd sold 173 units of Pajero Sports in August against 172 in August last year, but its Ambassador sales dropped to 162 (176). Its light commercial vehicle Winner, however, saw a jump in monthly sales to 37 (11). Meanwhile, the company has launched BS IV-compliant diesel Ambassador Encore for ‘no-refusal’ taxi segment in the city. The West Bengal Government has recently issued 2,000 permits for such taxi services. Another set of 2,000 similar permits is expected to be released in November. HM expects a good share of sales from these lots, a company release said. HM said it was ramping up production at its Uttarpara plant in West Bengal for Encore.
