Mid-scale business hotel Keys has launched its second property in Bangalore. The facility in the IT hub of Whitefield, offers 150 rooms and 75 apartment-style studios for long-staying visitors, said Mr Partha Chatterjee, Director and Chief Marketing Officer of operator Berggruen Hotels.

Berggruen invested close to Rs 70 crore in the property and scouts for new sites to manage within the city, he told Business Line .

As in the case of the Hosur Road property which opened in September last year, the new one would also offer a promotional discounted unit price of Rs 3,000. “ We are the largest hotel in Whitefield. After Taj, we have the second largest [room] inventory in Bangalore,” he said. “We are very excited about the addition to our brand which will establish us in the Bangalore market.”

At present, there are ten Keys brands in the country and the company has invested in half of them. Mr Chatterjee said company-owned properties were due to come up in Pune, Kochi and Vishakhapatnam in the next one year.

Mr Sanjay Sethi, Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO, had earlier said the company planned to have 1926 rooms from 19 assets by 2013. Berggruen Hotels spread out from its first hotel in Thiruvananthapuram in 2009. It builds or manages mid-priced hotels, resorts and apartments.
