Tata Chemicals wins water awards

Tata Chemicals has won two laurels at the FICCI Water Awards 2012. The company bagged two silver awards, one in the category of ‘Innovation’ for its Nanotech Water Purifier, Tata Swach, and the second for ‘Community Initiatives’ for its community water management projects handled by the Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD).

The Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dixit, and chief guest Montek Singh Ahluwalia, were present on the occasion.

FICCI Water Awards, in association with HSBC is instituted to recognise efforts by Indian industry in the areas of water efficiency, management and its conservation. The awards aim at felicitating organisations for their contribution to industry through innovation for increased efficiency with improved performance and community-building at large.

R. Mukundan, Managing Director, Tata Chemicals said, “With the multifarious challenges of safe water access and affordability in India, there is immense scope for industry organisations to continuously innovate and develop sustainable products and community development models. With Tata Swach, we aspired to combine technology, performance, design and convenience.”
