Tata Power sets up 10kW turbine

Tata Power said it has commissioned a 10-kW micro hydro project in the tailrace (channel which carries water away from the powerhouse) of the 150-MW Bhira hydro power station in Maharashtra. The 150-MW station was started at Bhira about 90 years and commissioning of the 10-kW micro hydro turbine was a breakthrough for the project.
