Volvo Auto announces new India chief

Volvo Auto India has announced the appointment of Mr Tomas Ernberg as the new Managing Director of its domestic operations. Mr Ernberg, who has been with the Swedish carmaker for the last 17 years, will take over from the current Chief - Mr Paul de Voijs.

Responsible for overall planning and operations for Volvo in India, 40-year-old Mr Ernberg was last posted in Dubai as the Regional Managing Director. In his previous role, he was in charge of 13 markets in West Asia and North Africa.

“India is one of the fastest growing markets for Volvo and holds great promise. We have invested considerable time and effort in understanding Indian customers and offering them world-class products. I, personally, hope to learn from every challenge that unfolds,” said Mr Ernberg.
