Revenues hit due to lower production, fall in realisation

The cement industry witnessed weak offtake of cement in the July-September quarter.

ACC, one of the largest cement producers, has reported 40 per cent fall in September quarter net profit at ₹115 crore (₹193 crore) largely due to lower production and fall in realisation.

Sales were down marginally at ₹2,740 crore (₹2,742 crore) in the third quarter of this year. The company follows calendar year for accounting purpose.

Production was down at 5.61 million tonnes against 5.62 mt recorded in the same period last year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation was down 17 per cent at ₹313 crore.

Ready-mix concrete business of the company continued to register higher growth and better realisation, said the company on Wednesday. The company made a provision of ₹38 crore for the District Mineral Foundation and National Mineral Exploration Trust.

Shares of the company were down one per cent at ₹1,382
