Alstom T&D India, an arm of French firm Alstom, has bagged a contract worth Rs 41 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for setting up a transmission network at Daltonganj in Jharkhand.

Alstom T&D India has been awarded the contract for the supply, erection and commissioning of a sub-station at Daltonganj, Jharkhand, an official statement said.

Equipment for the sub-station will be delivered from Alstom T&D India’s manufacturing facilities located at Padappai (Chennai), Pallavaram (Chennai), Hosur (Tamil Nadu) and Noida, it said.

“The Daltonganj sub-station is critical for the Eastern Grid in delivering the Eastern Regional Strengthening Scheme.

We are proud to be a partner for PowerGrid in building this high voltage sub-station,” Mr Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India, said.

Alstom T&D, which is a part of Alstom Grid, had recently said that the company hoped to bag a major chunk of PowerGrid’s proposed transmission network contracts in the next five years.

The company had also said that it expected to get business from the Government’s proposed initiative of connecting the Southern Grid with the National Grid.
