Bengal Govt inks pact for media academy

Reliance Entertainment-owned BIG Animation today entered into an agreement with the West Bengal government to set up a media entertainment academy in the State.

The academy will be named WEBEL Reliance Media and Entertainment Academy and have courses in 3D, animation and visual effects having duration of six to 18 months.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Reliance Animation and WEBEL here on Tuesday. “Reliance will also offer placement to some of the students,” Mr Debesh Das, State IT Minister said.

The academy will start functioning in the 2011 academic year.
