Coal India expects its new performance appraisal system to help improve efficiency. R. Mohan Das, Director, Personal and Industrial Relations, Coal India, said the system to link individual appraisal to performance would help meet higher growth targets and bring efficiency.

According to him, the system has been developed by human resource management firm ManpowerGroup and it would replace the existing appraisal system.

“I hope the new performance management system will help bring efficiency and increase our productivity. Thus, it will enable us to achieve a higher production target,” Das told reporters on the sidelines of the pre-launch event of Global Compact Network India’s 8th National Convention.

“The system will be effective from April,” he added.

Das said the increase in productivity with the implementation of this system would depend on the targets set by the company.
