Colgate-Palmolive reports flat profit growth

Personal care products major Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd has reported a flat profit of Rs 113 crore (Rs 111 crore) in the quarter ended December 31, 2013. Net sales for the quarter rose 16 per cent to Rs 884 crore.

A company statement said that during the quarter, the company achieved a volume growth of 10 per cent over the same quarter of the previous year.

The company claimed that it had a a 56 per cent volume market share during January-December period and said that its flagship brands 'Colgate Dental Cream', 'Active Salt', 'Max Fresh' and 'Colgate Total' along with the recently launched 'Visible White' have contributed to this growth.

In December 2013, the company paid its second interim dividend of Rs 9 per share following Rs 9 per share paid in November.

The company's stock was trading at Rs 1,316.35, up Rs 5.75 this morning.
