Backed by a robust performance in Q1, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has chalked out strategies “to grow faster than the market”.

“The 15 per cent increase in the first quarter against the industry growth rate of 10 per cent has prompted us to go aggressive to garner a significant market share,” Mathew Job, CEO, CGCEL, said.

To propel this growth momentum the company has identified five core areas including ‘brand excellence, go to market excellence, portfolio excellence, and operational excellence’ he said

“The brand campaign taken up in the last quarter has been well received in the market and the initial results are promising as is evident in the Q1 results”, he told

BusinessLine in a one-to-one interaction.

Job, who was in Kochi for the launch of the premium fan Avancer e-sense, said the projected growth would be aided by efforts to improve availability of products. A detailed programme to increase product reach in the market has been developed and is being rolled out.

Crompton is the market leader in fans and residential pumps. The company is among the top three brands in lighting with a strong innovation base in professional luminaries, especially in LED lighting. Though the company is a relatively late entrant in home appliances, he said it was expanding its reach and growing much faster than the market.
