Cyient (formely Infotech) and Pratt & Whitney, the leaders in aircraft engines, inaugurated an Experience Centre for its engineers at Manikonda in Hyderabad's Cyberabad on Thursday by installing a huge PW4090 aircraft engine donated by P&W.

This engine is capable of producing 90,000 pounds of thrust to fly an aeroplane.

The Experience Centre hopes to close the gap between the engineers’ design and the final product, resulting in a shorter design cycle time for Cyient’s customers. The aerospace engineers at Cyient will thus have the ability to see their final product ahead, touch and learn about the components the company designs.

With several aircraft components displayed at the facility, Cyient hopes to inspire budding engineers from colleges.

The Centre was inaugurated by Jayant Sabnis, Vice-President of Engineering Module Centres, Pratt and Whitney, and BVR Mohan Reddy, Executive Chairman, Cyient. Speaking on the occasion, Sabnis said that the infrastructure for prototyping and inspection of equipment at the Centre will be added in a phased manner while Reddy said that they were constantly innovating to deliver efficient and improved solutions.
