Infosys today said the District of Columbia in the US has extended its IT contract to implement the next phase of health insurance and medicaid modernisation programme.
Last year in January, the Bangalore-headquartered firm’s US subsidiary Infosys Public Services was awarded the $49.5-million contract from the District of Columbia to develop its health insurance marketplace, the DC Health Link.
“The US District of Columbia has extended its contract with Infosys Public Services, a US-based subsidiary of Infosys,” the firm said in a statement.
Under the new agreement, Infosys Public Services will modernise the legacy eligibility system and additional federal and local health and social programmes for the US District of Columbia, it added.
Infosys Public Services will leverage the foundational capabilities developed in 2013 to enable the District’s agencies to collaborate with their constituents to achieve sustainable health and social benefit outcomes, it said.
“The District is a leader in implementing the new healthcare insurance mandates and insurance marketplace,” Infosys Public Services President and CEO Eric Paternoster said.
Infosys Public Services provides consulting, systems integration, IT services, business process services, products and platforms solutions to health insurers and providers, Government healthcare, federal and state and local Government.
