FMCG major Emami Ltd has instituted the Zandu International Award.
The award, according to a release by Emami, will recognise path-breaking research on natural products and medicinal plants by any distinguished researcher from the Indian diaspora.
According to Harsha V Agarwal, Director, Emami Ltd, with the institution of the award, Zandu has taken a lead in acknowledging and promoting best of researches in the field of natural and herbal products globally.
“We hope that recognising exemplary efforts in this area would act as an encouragement for further advanced research in the area of natural and herbal products,” he was quoted as per the release.
In its maiden year, Zandu International Award was given to Ikhlas Khan, Director of FDA Centre of Excellence, Research Professor, National Center for Natural Products Research, Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Professor in Pharmacognosy, University of Mississippi, USA.
