US auto major Ford today showcased its Chennai-built sports utility vehicle EcoSport in the busy IT hub of Hitec City of Hyderabad.

As part of the EcoSport Urban Discoveries campaign roadshow, the Ford EcoSport will be showcased to consumers every week-end at shopping malls across 12 cities in India in a phased manner.

Consumers in Hyderabad will have the opportunity to see, touch and feel the EcoSport at InOrbit Mall, Madhapur.

By participating in the campaign, 100 consumers across India will have the opportunity to drive the EcoSport through May, prior to its market launch.

EcoSport will be offered in four trims, with a choice of three engines, debuting the award-winning 1.0L Ecoboost turbocharged engine in India with the urban SUV, and an automatic transmission variant.

Joginder Singh, President and Managing Director of Ford India, said: “We are excited to go live with our game changer EcoSport at the EcoSport Urban Hub, as we bring our urban SUV closer to our consumers in Hyderabad.’’

EcoSport will be the first vehicle in its segment to feature a voice-enabled interactive system better known as SYNC, which the manufacturer has co-developed with Microsoft.
