GE plans to invest additional Rs 3,000 cr in Maharashtra

US major GE is planning an additional investment of Rs 3,000 crore in Maharashtra. Among other equipment, it will produce power turbines in the State.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office on Thursday afternoon, the investment announcement was made by the Vice-Chairman of GE, John Rice, after a meeting with the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, at Davos, Switzerland.

Fadnavis is in Davos to attend the World Economic Summit along with a delegation from the State.

GE already has a major faclity near Pune for producing electrical equipment.
