General Motors India is all set to launch a new multi-purpose vehicle in the country by the end of this year.

The car christened Enjoy will be priced below Toyota Innova and on par with Maruti Ertiga. However, the pricing will be decided on the market conditions at the time of the launch, said P. Balendran, Vice-President (Corporate Affairs), General Motors India.

The company has also plans to launch one more sedan model by the end of this year, he added.

Balendran, who was here in connection with the launch of Chevrolet Sail U-VA, told reporters on Friday that despite the adverse conditions in the car market, General Motors continues to launch new models just to create an excitement in the market.

The company will be looking at a monthly sale of close to 4,000 newly launched Chevrolet Sail U-VA premium hatch back vehicles nationally.

Speaking on the occasion, Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director, General Motors, said the Sail U-VA hatchback is built on a new global small passenger car platform created especially for fast growing emerging markets including India.

The new vehicle is an important addition to GM’s small car portfolio in India, he said.
