Godrej Consumer Products Ltd on Tuesday launched five new personal care products under the Protekt range and aims to garner at least 10 per cent market share in the segment, expected to double within three years.

“These personal care products will be sold in modern retail outlets initially and later be taken into to the retail system across the country,” said Sunil Kataria, Chief Operating Officer, Sales and Marketing, Godrej Consumer. These products include handwash liquid, sanitizers and personal repellents. The market for handwash is expected to be about ₹450 crore, growing at about 25 per cent, while the sanitiser and the personal repellent segments are estimated at ₹100 crore each.

Together, these three segments are likely to double to ₹1,200 crore in three years, where Godrej aims to garner a 10 per cent share.

Godrej describes the products as master blaster in handwash, for people on the move, hand sanitiser, Happy Foam, a foaming handwash for kids, Masterchef’s handwash built to fight germs and kitchen odour. The mosquito repellent skin spray is meant for those having outdoor assignments.

“Protekt will change people’s perspective towards sanitation and protection category,” Kataria said.
