The West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister, Mr Partha Chatterjee, on Tuesday said the inauguration of the coke oven plant at IISCO's Burnpur unit in Burdwan, West Bengal, is likely to happen within a month. IISCO Chairman, Mr N. K. Jha, met Mr Chatterjee here today.
IISCO is carrying out a Rs 16,000 crore modernisation plan at the Burnpur unit to achieve a total capacity of 2.5 million tonnes.
The Rs 1,100 crore first phase of the project, which has already begun, aims to achieve a production target 0.2 million tonnes.
