International Paper has constituted a new board of directors for Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Ltd, under the leadership of Mr Paul Brown, President of International Paper India and Chairman and acting CEO of AP Paper.
The $25-billion global paper major has also appointed Mr Rampraveen Swaminathan as Managing Director and CEO of AP Paper, effective on March 2, at which time Mr Brown will become Executive Chairman of the board.
AP Paper has become a part of the US-based International Paper following the acquisition of majority interest through a buy out of stake from core promoters and later through an open offer.
As the new managing director and CEO, Mr Swaminathan will lead all aspects of the company's business and growth in India. Mr Swaminathan will join AP Paper from Cummins. Prior to that assignment he was with the Tata Group.
The new board members include Mr Adhiraj Sarin, Managing Director, Bunge, Mr Brett Mosley, Director, Global Technology, International Paper, Mr M.K. Sharma, former vice-chairman, Hindustan Unilever, Mr M.S. Ramachandran, former Chairman, Indian Oil, Mr Milind Sarwate, Group CFO, Marico, Mr P.K. Suri, Director, Operations, AP Paper.
Mr Paul Brown, President, International Paper India and Chairman of the AP Paper board of directors and acting CEO, Mr Praveen Kadle, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Capital Ltd, Mr Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO designate, AP Paper, Ms Ranjana Kumar, former vigilance commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission and former chairperson, Indian Bank, Mr Shreeyash Bangur, former director, Corporate, AP Paper, Mr Tom Kadien, Senior Vice-President, Consumer Packaging, IP Asia and IP India.

AP Paper produces writing and printing and copier papers at its two manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh, which have a total paper production capacity of 250,000 tonnes per year.
