M&M says to honour Supreme Court decision

Mahindra Group Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra, in a series of tweets, said Mahindra & Mahindra will comply with the decision.

“So even if we believe the decision on diesel vehicles isn't optimal, we'll honour it and develop vehicles that comply with their stipulations… I have always believed that the Supreme Court is an institution that sustains our faith in social justice and democracy in India,” he said on microblogging site Twitter.

M&M shares closed down 5.44 per cent at Rs 1,218.90 on the BSE, while the benchmark Sensex ended up 0.69 per cent on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court had ordered an temporary ban on registration of diesel passenger vehicles of engine capacity of 2000cc or above in Delhi till March 31, 2016. The apex court also hiked the levy on trucks entering the city.
