Maruti Suzuki India has announced the winner of the WagonR Think Big Challenge. Varun Chandra from Guwahati has won the challenge which is in its third season.
The winner takes home Rs 10 lakh, a brand new Maruti Suzuki WagonR and an opportunity to win venture capital for the winning idea, with incubation support worth Rs 50 lakh for one year, including infrastructural support.
Speaking on the occasion, Manohar Bhatt, Vice-President (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki said, “The third season has brought in more objectivity and greater focus towards the participants from specific target groups. To encourage entrepreneurship among college students we specifically added a new category — The Young Turks — this year.”
The contest garnered 36,318 registrations this year. Ideas were received from over 19 cities across India. Over 5,000 registrations were received from college students across India and some 160 unique business ideas were registered.
