McLeod Russel net up 35% at Rs 26 cr

McLeod Russel, the world’s largest tea plantation company, reported an over 35 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 26 crore for the quarter ending June 30, over the corresponding quarter last fiscal. 

Turnover for the period increased by Rs 30 crore or nearly 21 per cent to Rs 176 crore (Rs 146 crore).

During the period nearly 90 per cent of its revenue (from the tea business) or Rs 159 crore came from operations within the country, while Rs 16 crore came from overseas operations. Other income accounted for another Rs 1 crore.

The Rs 5 McLeod stock on Friday closed at Rs 278.35, down by nearly 1 per cent, at the BSE.
