Lending a golden touch to its partnership with ‘Delhi Daredevils', the Delhi IPL franchise, the Muthoot Group on Saturday launched a limited edition of ‘Delhi Daredevils-Muthoot' branded Gold coins.

This is for the first time that any IPL sponsor has crafted a gold coin for its team. Ace cricketer and Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag was the first to receive the coin.

Muthoot Group's association with Delhi Daredevils started in 2010 when it was an associate sponsor of this franchise. As an associate sponsor, Muthoot's logo was seen on the trousers and helmets of the team members. In 2011, the Muthoot Group, an M George Enterprise, became a principal sponsor.

Virender Sehwag expressed hope that the Muthoot Group would continue its sponsorship of the Delhi Daredevils team. He promised all efforts to bring some joy to the sponsors by winning the IPL tournament this time round.

Mr M. G. George Muthoot, Chairman of Muthoot Group, said that the Muthoot Group would continue to support Delhi Daredevils.

Mr Muthoot also announced that every team member and support staff would be given a “real gold coin” if they win the IPL's fifth edition, which starts in Chennai on April 4

Ahead of the IPL Season Five , sponsors are leveraging their association with franchises to get full value. Muthoot's move to launch a limited edition gold coin is one such effort, according to Mr Navroze D. Dhondy, Managing Director of Creatigies Communications. Mr Dhondy played a key role in bringing together the Muthoot Group and Delhi Daredevils.
