NCC posts Rs 58.3 cr net profit

NCC Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 58.27 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2016, up 2 per cent, against Rs 57.03 crore it logged during the corresponding quarter last year on a standalone basis.

The Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure company had posted a lower turnover of Rs 1,943 crore (including other income) for the third quarter of the current year 2016-17 against Rs 2,096 crore in the same period of the previous year.

The company's performance was hit due to slowdown in works post demonetisation and delay in receiving payments.

NCC Ltd reported an EPS of Rs 1.05 for the third quarter against Rs 1.03 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

For the nine months period ended December 2016, the company reported a lower turnover of Rs 5,846 crore against Rs 6,020 crore in the corresponding nine months of the previous year.

Net profit for the nine months was up at Rs 161.79 crore against Rs 153.95 crore reported in the corresponding nine months of the previous year.

NCC posted an EPS of Rs 2.91 during the nine-month period against Rs 2.77 in the same period last year.

During the nine-month period, the company has secured orders worth Rs 9,312 crore in various divisions and the order book was up at Rs 20,466 crore, A Ranga Raju, Managing Director of NCC, informed in a statement.
