NHPC Q1 profit slips 15%

Public sector hydro electricity producer NHPC has reported 15.32 per cent drop in its first quarter profit. “The company has posted a net profit of Rs 669.81 core for the quarter ended June 30, 2012, compared with Rs 791.05 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011,” it said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Its total income has decreased from Rs 1,729.53 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 to Rs 1,666.89 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.
