Titan retail eyewear division is set for the national launch of its own Fastrack-branded frames. R. Sharad, head of Retail, Eyewear Division of Titan Co Ltd, told Business Line that the national rollout is in the offing.

Titan launched the youth-targeted branded frames in Bangalore recently. “This is the extension of the brand from sunglasses to frames,” Sharad said.

The Fastrack-branded frames are in the affordable range starting from Rs 1,500. Price range of Fastrack sunglasses begin from Rs 600.

The company has its lens manufacturing unit in Bangalore. It outsources frames from empanelled vendors, who follow Titan specification and design.

At present, Titan has 240 retail stores across the country. Out of the total, the company-owned stores are about 80 and the rest are run by franchisees.

Sharad said Titan eyewear division, apart from its own products, also sells top overseas brands. Its eyewear stores provide free zero-error eye testing. It’s optometrists are trained by Sankara Nethralaya.

It is also entering the niche segment of in-hospital stores. “We have about 15 such stores right now. We are selectively growing in this segment,” he said.

Titan eyewear retail is focussing more on underserved markets in the country.
