Pune-based global process solutions company Praj Industries has restructured is businesses, and adopted a new identity in line with its future growth strategy.
The rejig into two business units — Growth Business and Established Business — comes on the heels of Praj transforming itself from being a single business sector company of ethanol solutions to multiple business organisation, providing solutions for brewery, water and wastewater, process equipment & systems, high purity application and bio-products.
“While ethanol will continue to be a major focus in Praj’s business, the introduction of water, pharma and biotech-led businesses signifies our continued push for sustainability,” Pramod Chaudhari, Executive Chairman, Praj Industries, said, adding that the company is increasingly focused upon engineering solutions for environment, energy and agri-led processing industries.
Following the restructuring, the Growth Business will consist of 2nd gen ethanol, water, specialised process equipment and high purity applications in pharma, biotech as well as niche bio-products.
The Established Business will see further innovations in 1st gen ethanol and brewery plants.
On the 2nd generation technology front, Praj has developed a ‘bolt-on’ model which will cut the capex of the plant by 30-40 per cent and enable faster execution.
On the Growth Business, Praj Industries targets achieving 30 per cent revenue from water & wastewater, critical process equipment & systems and high purity applications.
The company is also moving its offices to the newly inaugurated Praj Tower in Hinjewadi, which meets the green building standards.
Equipped with solar powered electric supply, smart water management systems, Praj Tower has incorporated several facilities for employees to work in with a higher level of collaboration and transparency.
