Publicis appoints Bobby Pawar Chief Creative Officer, South Asia

Four days after a series of Ford Figo advertisements caused international outrage, heads had rolled at its advertising agency. Two months after the imbroglio in which Bobby Pawar lost his job in India, Publicis Worldwide has hired Pawar in a top role.

Announcing a new leadership team for South Asia and India, Publicis Worldwide said Bobby Pawar has joined as Director, Chief Creative Officer, South Asia.

BBH India too has announced a change in strategic leadership with Partha Sinha, one of the founding managing partners, set to take up a new position at Publicis Worldwide as the South Asia head of strategy.

Sanjay Sharma, Senior Strategy Director, has been deputed to take on the role of head of planning at BBH India.

Ambika Srivastava too has joined as Director, Marketing and New Business India at Publicis. All the three new appointees at Publicis are to join the management board of Publicis India and report to Nakul Chopra, CEO, South Asia.

Incidentally, Pawar was till recently Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner at WPP-owned JWT in India. Following the skirmish about the ad scandal in March, which drew international condemnation, Pawar moved on. Two months on, he has bagged a prestigious position.
