Reliance Power profit drops by 32%

Reliance Power Limited, a part of Anil Ambani controlled Reliance Group has reported drop in net profit while company’s revenues remained almost flat. The net profit reduced by 32 per cent to Rs 231 crore in the quarter ended June, 30 as against Rs 340 crore in the same period of last financial year.

Company’s operating revenues saw a slight drop from Rs 2679 crore in Q1FY17 to Rs 2635 crore in Q1FY18 while total income increased marginally from 274 crore in the first quarter of last fiscal to 275 crore in the first quarter this year.

The company has an operating portfolio of 5,945 megawatts (MW) which includes 3,960 MW coal-based Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project in Madhya Pradesh and 1,200 MW coal - based Rosa Power Plant in UP as well as coal and wind projects in Maharashtra and two solar plants in Rajastan.
