Sarovar Hotels adds another property in city's IT hub

Hospitality chain Sarovar Hotels & Resorts on Monday added another property to its network of hotels and hinted that it would continue its expansion drive during the course of the year adding few more properties.

The company added four properties in the last two months, one at Bangalore and three in the NCR region.

Sarovar, which currently manages 55 hotels across different categories and brands in the country, and two in Tanzania and Nairobi respectively, with a hotel room inventory of 4,500, hinted that this number is poised to go up by another 2,500 rooms within two years. It is also scouting for projects abroad.

Launching their third hotel in Hyderabad in the busy IT corridor, a 203-room property developed by Aditya Park, part of Manjeera Group, Mr Anil Madhok, Managing Director of Sarovar Hotels, said, “Hyderabad is rich in Indian heritage with a great fusion of modern culture. The city has potential and has witnessed tremendous growth in IT and pharma sector. The launch of the new property will fortify our presence in Andhra Pradesh where we now manage three properties.”

The Executive Director of Sarovar Hotels, Mr Ajay K. Bakaya, said: “we have recently added four properties to the network of hotels across the country in different categories and plan to add few more during the current financial year. Our hotels are logging an occupancy level of 70 per cent and we believe that this is good and poised to go further as the Indian economy continues a growth of 7-9 per cent per annum.”

The Managing Director of Manjeera Group, Mr D.Yoganand, said, “the company's progress in the hospitality industry has been slow but steady. With the addition of this Rs 130-crore property, we now have three projects in Andhra Pradesh and plan to add one more in Vijayawada through public private partnership deal.”
