The workers’ strike at Shasun Pharmaceuticals’ Puducherry plant continued on Tuesday.
The strike began on Saturday with workers in the casual payroll demanding they be made permanent employees. Production has come to a halt at the Ibuprofen API and formulations manufacturing facility.
The company said it is in discussions with the workers and hopes to resolve the issue in a couple of days.
The Puducherry plant has a production capacity of around 500 tonnes a month.
