Somany Ceramics net jumps 72.5%

Boosted by newer product offerings, tiles maker Somany Ceramics has posted a 72.51 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 8.16 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012, against Rs 4.73 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. Net sales stood at Rs 266.23 crore for the quarter under consideration against Rs 216.46 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal. “Our ongoing efforts in providing our patrons with the latest and most advanced digital technology tiles had a healthy impact on top and bottom lines...,” said Joint Managing Director. The company’s shares were trading today at Rs 104.60 on the BSE, down five per cent from its previous close.
