In a major boost to the Tata Motors brand, the company’s compact SUV Nexon has received a four-star adult occupant rating and a three-star child occupant rating in the Global NCAP crash tests.
The recently concluded safety tests by Global NCAP indicate that the Nexon achieved the highest adult safety score (13.56/17.00) among all the models tested across the Indian market. The car also received a three-star rating for “Child Protection” as per the safety test conducted by Global NCAP.
Nexon, launched in May, is already one of the best selling models for Tata Motors. According to Tata Motors, the Nexon AMT version has received an overwhelming response and is witnessing good traction in the market.
Zest set the example
This is the second time a Tata car has received a four-star rating from NCAP. Back in 2016, Zest became the first car to secure a four-star Global NCAP rating.
All variants of the Nexon – from the base XE to the top-spec XZ+ – get ABS and two airbags as standard. The Isofix child seat anchorage is offered only on the XZ+ and XZA+ trims.

Feature-rich model
Nexon’s energy-absorbing body structure with high-strength steel construction and critical reinforcements, effectively absorb the impact energy and provide a stable load-path for protecting the passenger compartment from deformation.
For driver & passenger safety, the Nexon comes equipped with dual-frontal airbags and seatbelts with pre-tensioner, load-limiter & crash-locking tongue that prevents the uncontrolled forward movement of the occupant and avoids injuries. The driver footwell area is also reinforced with pedal blockers to prevent the feet injuries in the event of an unfortunate crash.
In addition to the structural integrity, Nexon hosts a range of Safety features such as ABS with EBD as standard offering, ISOFIX anchorage for child-seat, Child-safety door locks, Voice-based alerts and Front fog lamps with cornering assistance which ensure an all-round safety while driving on-road.
