UST Global in twin tie-ups to push niche telecom tech

UST Global has announced partnerships with Preva Systems, company focusing on telecom and embedded systems, as well as Mobiotics, which specialises in future technology experiences.

Through this, the company will help customers adopt new telecom technologies in niche areas such as Machine-to-Machine; Internet of Things; Web of Things; and Connected TV.

Niche technologies

‘Machine-to-Machine’ technologies allow wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same type. These technologies enable networked devices to exchange information and perform actions without manual assistance.

‘Internet of Things’ seeks to ‘tag’ things though technologies such as near-field communication, barcodes, QR codes and digital watermarking.

In the ‘Web of Things’ concept, physical objects of everyday use are made citizens of the World Wide Web by giving them an API (application programming interface).

This will facilitate creation of their virtual profiles as well as their integration and reuse in all kinds of applications.

‘Connected TV’ refers to the trend of integration of the Internet and Web 2.0 features into TV sets and set-top boxes as also technological convergence between computers, TV sets and set-top boxes.

Sharpened focus

Sachith Sebastian, Global Delivery Head-Telecom, UST Global said that the company proposed to sharpen focus on growing opportunities in these emerging technologies through partnerships.

It will use its sales and service network to market and deliver software solutions from Mobiotics to customers across the globe.

Anuraj, CEO, Mobiotics, said that his company hoped to yield good results from the partnership.

Vivek Varshney, Vice-President and Head Telecom Practice, UST Global said, that companies use practices such as the Internet of things (IoT) to meet various challenges in the telecom industry.

The high point of the engagement is the speed and agility with which conceptual customer requirements are translated into working solutions, said Ramaraj Srinivasan, CEO, Preva Systems.
