V-Guard Q3 net up 46%

V-Guard Industries Ltd has achieved a profit after tax of Rs 12.45 crore during the third quarter ending December 31, 2011, showing an increase of 46 per cent over from Rs 8.55 crore achieved in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Dr George Sleeba, Joint Managing Director, said that the new solar water-heater plant built at a cost of Rs 10.5 crore will become operational in February. Net sales during the quarter rose to Rs 256.86 crore, up 45 per cent year-on-year from Rs 176.80 crore. Net sales for the first nine months rose 42 per cent year-on-year to Rs 715.96 crore (Rs 503.75 crore).

Mr Mithun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Director, said that product verticals, such as pumps, cables, digital UPS and stabilisers, contributed to sales growth, apart from cost-control initiatives.
