Posts ₹71 cr net in March quarter

VA Tech Wabag has sustained its net profit on a consolidated basis for the fourth quarter of 2014-15, despite a tough business environment.

The Chennai-based multinational company in water and wastewater treatment and recycling benefitted from its presence in diverse geographical locations.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2015, the company reported a net profit of ₹71.30 crore (₹71.90 crore) on a total income of ₹907.73 crore (₹897.66 crore).

For 2014-15, the company reported a net profit of ₹110.46 crore (₹113.62 crore) on a total income of ₹2,435.15 crore (₹2,238.60 crore).

The company issued 2.71 crore equity shares as bonus shares on 1:1 basis during the quarter. It has recommended a dividend of ₹4 a share of face value of ₹2 a share.

On a standalone basis, the company reported a net profit of ₹71.30 crore (₹71.90 crore) on a total income of ₹907.73 crore (₹897.66 crore) for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

Strong order book

A press release from the company said some of the major orders received during the fourth quarter include a ₹732-crore order for balance of plant and water management from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh power utility; a ₹200-crore order for a 147-million-litre-a-day water treatment plant in West Bengal; a €12-million (₹83 crore) Effluent Treatment Plant order in Uzbekistan and a €13-million (₹90 crore) sludge treatment order in Vienna, Austria.

The company’s order book stands at ₹6,800 crore, including ₹2,977 crore coming in during 2014-15.
