Love may be priceless, but it still costs a lot of money and a holiday out on Valentine's Day may be tough on the wallet. If you are not buying bling for your beloved, a romantic dinner or a cool getaway can deal a blow to your budget. Hotels have come out with packages priced above Rs 1 lakh and claim they are already sold out.

At the Taj's grand palaces in Rajasthan, a two-night package is priced between Rs 80,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh. A two-night package at the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad ranges between Rs 65,000 and Rs 90,000, with the added advantage of exploring the majestic Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad.

The pitches are as soppy as they come — be it intimate dinner arrangements in sophisticated settings laced with cigars and cognac (Rambagh Palace in Jaipur) — or exploring the royal nooks of the Taj Falaknuma Palace on an exquisite champagne tour, and treating your partner to a soothing hour-long couples' body massage at the Jiva Spa.

But there seem to be takers galore. “Most of the V-Day packages are sold out and we are getting a great response for dinner bookings at our restaurants,” said a senior official of the Taj.

The ‘Romance at The Leela Goa' package is priced at more than Rs 1 lakh for three nights for a couple. The room rate for three nights at the Lagoon Terrace is priced at Rs 72,000, the conservatory premiere at Rs 78,000 and the lagoon suite at more than Rs 1 lakh.

For those looking at overseas holiday destinations for V-day, TUI Travel India is offering couples holiday getaways to romantic locations. From the serene beaches of Bali, to the breathtaking valleys of Sri Lanka and the romantic sunsets of the Maldives, TUI India is offering exciting options to make your Valentine a memorable one. A five-night, six-day tour to Sri Lanka is priced at Rs 34,990 per person and for Bali, it is Rs 39,990, while for Mauritius, it is over Rs 60,000 per person.
