The Fr Arrupe Center for Ecology and Sustainability (FACES) of XLRI Jamshedpur has recently organised a workshop on National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
NRLM is a World Bank supported project — rolled out by the Ministry of Rural Development. It has been conceived as a corner-stone of national poverty reduction strategy.
The workshop discussed the overall understanding of the NRLM agenda, opportunities for professional engagement and the status of its roll-out, a release issued by XLRI Jamsedpur stated.
The workshop was attended by XLRI faculty and some of its partner NGOs also served as a platform for exploring opportunities to partner in efforts for training and institutional capacity building, which can have a larger impact.
“We are part of a consortium of seven management schools that are developing knowledge products to strengthen the NRLM. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together stakeholders and develop a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities,” Prof Madhukar Shukla, Chairperson, FACES, XLRI Jamshedpur, was quoted in the release.
The Fr Arrupe Centre for Ecology and Sustainability is a multi-disciplinary centre at XLRI Jamshedpur and provides thought leadership to promote policies, practices and dialogue that have an impact on the sustainable development of society and enterprises.
